Jakes likes a girl. Her name is Bella. Bella likes another fella. 
See this vamp? His name is Ed. Ed is pale. Ed is dead. 
Ed saved Bella from a van, he must be a special man. 
Ed won't kill boys, and he won't kill girls, 
He feeds on deer and squirrels.
This is James. He's a tracker, He's sort of a vampire attacker. 
James hurts Bella for a thrill. Will Ed kill him? Oh yes he will. 
But James gives her a little bite. Will she turn into a vamp? Not tonight. 
Edward fixes Bella's cut, she won't be a vampire, but...
She becomes one, if you read some more. Bella's a vampire in book 4
